Granada is a university city with a very picturesque location in front of the summits of the Sierra Nevada, an excellent winter ski resort. Beneath the white horizon, the Alambra, a Moorish fortress, brilliant red at dusk, dominates the city.
On the Albaicín hill of the city lies a Moorish district with winding alleys of stairways and small gardens hidden behind walls, which was declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO, together with the Alhambra.
