The art of living in Andalusia

The Costa del Sol, the Sunny Coast of Andalusia: here you will find a bustling life full of events. This area is fully developed for tourists, although the interior also offers a lot of attraction to the visitor. The Costa del Sol is protected by the mountain ranges, hence its particular Mediterranean climate.

This region offers you plenty of opportunities to enjoy a great diversity of activities all year round. All along the coast, department stores and boutiques offer you the latest fashion and pieces of craftsmanship. Inquire about places of interest and activities taking place in Andalusia.

The Andalusian cuisine is characterised by fruits from the orchard, dishes from the mountain areas and the typical Mediterranean cuisine of the coastal areas. The art of cooking of many exquisite specialties evidences the Moorish tradition in the use of herbs, the presentation and, above all, the preparation of sweets and pastries.

There is an enormous variety of restaurants, ranging from the highly sophisticated gourmet restaurants to simple fish restaurants.

The large number of terraces invite you to sit down beside the sea and enjoy the view. Quite late in the night, the discothèques and clubs open, where dancing goes on until the early hours of the morning.

The Costa del Sol offers a complete range of sports. Here you will find absolutely everything you may desire: all types of water sports, golf, tennis, volleyball and beach volleyball, football, basketball and squash, while both the beaches and the interior invite you to take long walks.

Given the number of golf courses on the Costa del Sol, already more than fifty, the area has received the name of Costa del Golf (Golf Coast). Here you will find a wide variety of well-kept golf courses in idyllic surroundings and a beautiful weather almost the whole year round. During the summer months, some courses have special green fee offers. Taking into account their popularity among tourists, many golf courses also employ English and German speaking personnel.

During the winter you are only 1.5 to 2 hours away from one of Spain’s most beautiful skiing areas, near Granada in the Sierra Nevada. This ski resort, the highest in Europe, has already organised two world ski championships. Ski runs are open from December till April. Enjoy the complete range of après-ski offers or return to the beach after skiing to enjoy yourself during the night without cap or scarf.
